What are you looking forward to?
These days, at sixty-six, the pleasures I look forward to have grown simple and clear:
- A hot cappuccino in the morning, shared with my wife at the breakfast table.
- The occasional fine cigar paired with a glass of XO Cognac — with good friends, or in good solitude.
- A paragliding flight over Monterey on a sunny early afternoon, when the wind is calm.
- An afternoon spent watching my granddaughter.
- Any gathering of family — though I’ll admit the holidays run a little too hectic for my taste.
- A warm evening on the patio, rocking slowly in my chair, watching the flowers and the plants stir in the breeze.
- A cold, crisp, clear night when the stars come out to play.
- And Monday morning, when the markets open.
